Hi! I’m Alison.
For years I sourced only the freshest seafood in my previous life as the Executive Chef for Striped Bass restaurant in Philadelphia and as a chef owner of several neighborhood restaurants with a focus on fresh seafood and a daily changing menu.
After a major move to land-locked Atlanta, I stepped out the chef world and into my home kitchen, cooking almost every night for family and friends. The South has a deep history and amazing culture of local seafood. While the North has lobster, the South has shrimp, I've learned different types of shrimp are unique to their geographical area. Shrimp have a terroir just like oysters, grapes, and other wild harvested food.
Because of my professional experience I knew there was amazing seafood available and it was easy to cook, but I needed to figure out how to make this easy for you.
After a lot of experimenting and finding the right docks to buy from, I'm proud to share Absolutely Shrimp - imagined for the home cook like you and me.
